On August, Pearl Jam's previously cancelled U.S. summer shows were added: Nov. 1st and 2nd (rescheduled from the rained-out Salt Lake City date); Nov. 4th Spartan Stadium, San Jose; Nov. 6th and 7th San Diego, CA. The ticket art for the rescheduled shows was created by AmesBros (Jeff Ament and his brother Barry). The original tickets for the cancelled shows were no longer valid. The tickets were reissued automatically by Fillmore Tour and Ticket for everyone who didn´t requested a refund. For anyone who attended the San Francisco show where Neil Young took over for Eddie, Pearl Jam rescheduled another date in San Jose. Anyone who didn´t requested a refund for the San Francisco show had purchased tix for San Jose for only $10.
On August, Stone, Jeff, Mike, Jack and Brendan O'Brien [keyboards] (Pearl Jam producer) joined Neil Young in Europe to support the 'Mirrorball' album. The first show took place in Stockholm on August 12th. They've played 11-dates. The tour ended up in Reading, England on August 27th.
"He's just like a wise sage or something like that. Very cool guy. Very mellow. It was one of the funnest times I've ever had, going on tour, just playing his songs, 'cause I love his songs, first of all. Just getting to be part of it. Playing Cortez or whatever, it was just magnificent. I wouldn't have traded that for anything", Mike McCready.
"When we went on tour with Neil Young, I was freaking out, and it wasn't just because we were on tour with Neil Young; I was experiencing true sobriety then, and while we were playing I would go places in my mind that I had never been to before, because I was clear. The music was the spiritual part of it. Because of the feeling of the music, I saw things that I had never seen before and felt "truths" that I had never before felt. There was a feeling of pure light emanating from my head, traveling a million miles away and then coming back. This gave me a wonderful feeling, like, "What was that?" That happened a bunch of times, and it's a really great, amazing experience. It's 180 degrees away from where my head was at when I was using drugs", Mike McCready.

Mike and Jeff bounce around, Stone (sporting glasses) plays with his back to the crowd for most of the time. The majority of the set is Drawn from the Mirror Ball album. In the middle of the set Neil plays a few songs solo, The Needle and the Damage Done, Hey Hey My My. He is rejoined by the boys and they play Throw Your Hatred Down. Cortez the Killer follows a 20 minute jam seeing Neil and Mike duelling furiously to a manic climax. They all return and blitz into Rockin In The Free World ending with Mike setting his guitar alight in one of the flame torches on the stage and then trashing his amps. Neil just bashes his guitar to oblivion - as string after string is toutured to breaking point. Other acts included: Soundgarden, L7, Foo Fighters, Mudhoney, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Pavement, Pennywise.
